Kyle Lockhart first discovered ceramics during high school and quickly found himself putting in extra hours for assignments and routinely staying late after class. After two semesters he became completely hooked and knew he wanted to pursue ceramics the rest of his life. Kyle continued studying ceramics at North Seattle College from 2006 through 2008, then transferred to the University of Washington to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in ceramics in 2010.

At various times, he has also been a studio assistant and production potter for other artists. His work is mostly wheel thrown sculptures involving multiple pieces that are altered and then joined together. He is well versed in functional wheel made work and enjoys the design/ergonomic challenges it presents.

Currently Kyle is extensively learning about  the technical and science aspects of all things ceramics.
